I've found that the vast majority of hard splitters are brass. The higher conductive metals are too soft and expensive in general. The LATs that I use are of the highest copper content I've found so far. I'm not advocating hard splitters they're just my personal preference so far. YMMV.

We love the scale of performance and the way the Vertere delivers the seismic dynamic shifts of the recording with so much enthusiasm. Rather than use a series of dipswitches (as many rivals do), the MX-VYNL has a rather elegant control dial to manage the switch between moving coil and moving magnet inputs and their different loading requirements.

A couple of 10kOhm resistors should do the job pretty nicely. Trouble is to construct such a combiner will probably require a bit of DIY as I can't recall ever seeing a ready made beast like this anywhere. Though I would not be surprised to find somebody making such a device. But far less common than a simple splitter. This provides isolation between the left and right inputs so the preceding splits are not mono'ed up as well. I think my trouble may be because I am trying to use one or more of the adaptors/leads the wrong way round, because it became apparent when wiring it up that I had misplanned 2 male/female connection points. However I never manage to understand when you can and cannot treat audio components as reversible.

Sound quality is first-rate: fantastically detailed, with the upper register particularly impressive. It’s difficult to imagine a more detailed presentation from a phono stage for the money.
