Sara Cate is a master of making a kink something completely normal and nothing to be ashamed of, even voyeurism. It's was the character connection for me that made a world of difference between the first book and this one.

I really enjoyed seeing an extremely accurate depiction of functional depression with major depression episodes. First of all, his inability to connect to any women is honestly something that should be talked about more. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. When Garret comes across his stepsister online and realizes she's a cam girl, he knows he should leave.Sara Cate is a USA Today bestselling romance author who weaves complex characters, heart-wrenching stories, and forbidden romance into every page of her spicy novels. Considering this, she contined to chat with him while sleeping with Garret and even accepting a gift from him. But I think it just showcases that its perfectly normal and okay that you might not care for one book by an author and you might absolutely love another, even in the same series. He would not have been on antidepressants if he had bpd, he’s be on lithium because antidepressants do not work on BPD. Sure I guess, AS LONG AS THERE ISN’T A SIXTEEN YEAR AGE GAP AND OUR MALE LEAD KNEW HIS LITTLE SISTER SINCE SHE WAS EIGHT.

The only other queer character of note in this book is Drake, Garret’s best friend who’s known as a “manwhore” and “player” later surprises Garret by being bi/pan👀 so y’know just playing into every stereotype about bi people. So though this book is definitely not for everyone, I would recommend it to those seeking a heavy, taboo filled read. Even though she doesn't realize Drake she's been chatting online with is someone a lot closer to her than she thought. This story is about two people overcoming their insecurities and loving one another despite their flaws. It was great seeing Charlotte and Emerson again, and the bond of friendship between Emerson and Garrett.I enjoyed the pace of the storyline and I've discovered I quite like the 'know in real life/online and don't necessarily know' theme.

If you love a good enemies to lovers, age gap, forbidden romance with an element of taboo, look no further! Most people maybe wouldn’t be tripped up by these inconsistencies, but I have a close family member who has BPD and it kind of felt like they were downplaying how severe this illness truly is. He says things like “are you excited to flash your tits to creeps on the internet” or “When you come into my club dressed like a prostitute, you better believe I’m going to control you. This book delves into some deeper themes involving mental health, and I absolutely adored how Cate handled this subplot. You do not want to miss Mia and Garrett’s journey from enemy step-siblings to each other’s perfect match! Despite the squirmy setup, Cate handles touchy subjects—including her characters’ depression, anxiety, and drug use—with grace, and her sex scenes are as scorching as ever. It’s seriously, one of the most debilitating chronic illnesses, not just in mental health but in the entire gamut.

Only problem is Mia has no idea the man she’s formed a connection with on the app is none other than Garrett and he intends for her to never find out. And honestly, that’s my issue with Garret— he lies to Mia the whole book, he isn’t honest about his feelings, he expects commitment and exclusivity (which is whack when he knows she’s a cam girl, like literally it’s her job! the only thing worse than realizing i just started a step bro romance (yes, i went into it unknowingly leave me alone) is the fact that both the parents were just totally cool with it in the end?Reading the 1-star reviews is just so funny because so many of them were like, "if you take out the smut you have no plot. Now that I think about it, this entire book reads like a trope checklist with too much sex to fill the lack of character development.
