About this deal

Even though there are some similarities, this one is different enough that you can own both without any real overlap in gameplay.

All players should take back their selection cards into their hands and begin a new round, which plays out just like the previous one. Just looking at this game and you know instantly that it is a game that you aren’t going to struggle with, and I think that is truly key in encouraging new people to the hobby. If you have a sweet tooth then Go Nuts For Donuts will help you scratch that craving for sugary delight. Once all of the cards that were selected by players has been taken and any special powers resolved, the donut row is refilled. I have to say that I’m pretty pleased with the overall designs of everything inside the box, including the insert, which fits everything in a nicely designed slot specific to each piece.

This variety helps to keep the choices interesting, which is good, because that’s really the central focus of the game. Before seeing this game, I would never have considered that drawing faces on donuts would make for such a cute little theme. Maple Bar – Scores 3 points at the end of the game, but only if you have more than 6 types of donuts. In the game, you are trying to not only figure out which donut you want, but also guess what your opponents will be taking.

I loved Sushi Go and Sushi Go Party, Gamewright’s earlier entries into the “adorable, simple, food-related card game” genre. Imagine my pain of typing ‘donut’ so many times when I am British and know the proper spelling is ‘doughnut’. If it is picked from the discard pile, taken from another player etc then its ability does not trigger.Once each player has a selection card face down in front of them, everyone simultaneously reveals it. Some offer straight points, others award points on a sliding scale as you collect more of them, while others might actually be negative points, but give you a powerful one time ability. Once all players put a Numbers card face down to correlate to the Donut cards below the numerical column on the table, the Number cards are turned over. For example, in a four player game the player would receive a set of cards with the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.
