The former is a one-stop portal for free video content, though from what we could tell it was only YouTube videos clips repackaged together, rather than the more substantial free TV streaming services found in Samsung TV Plus or Rakuten TV. Other benefits include two voice assistants (Alexa and Google Assistant) and Hisense's own VIDAA U6 Smart TV OS. It does this by quickly flickering between two color states, giving the impression of another, third color between the two.

The Hisense U7K is now our 'Best Lower Mid-Range QLED' pick, and the newer Hisense U6/U6K replaced the older Hisense U6/U6H. In her free time, you'll catch her travelling the globe – the perks of being a freelance tech expert – tending to her plants when at home and, but of course, planning her next big trip.

The VIDAA system is intuitive to use and runs at a decent speed from button press to app opening and playing, plus there is Netflix, Prime Video and YouTube in 4K HDR. On the A7G, this mode is Cinema Night with all unnecessary processing switched off manually and gamma set to 2. It has Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support, as well as advanced DTS audio format support, but its low-quality content smoothing is poor, so it isn't as good for a home entertainment center as the higher-end models.

As always, for purists, we would recommend disabling the Ultra Smooth Motion settings for film and drama content, but there are user settings for use with video content and sports if you feel you need those. There are other screen sizes available from 55-, 65- and 75-inches and these larger sizes all use an IPS panel, the 50-inch we are reviewing has a VA style 60Hz (8bit+FRC) panel. The body of the unit is nice with a gunmetal style finish that looks much more expensive than it is. content also looked fair for the majority of content we viewed, without Ultra Smooth Motion engaged.

The appearance of the Hisense 55E7HQ TV does not violate any design conventions, not differing from its predecessor E76GQ . Blacks are good in a well-lit room but there is black crush evident, which will probably go unnoticed by the demographic this TV is aimed at. If you're looking for the cheapest Hisense TV on the market, you're in luck as they have a fantastic cheap model, the Hisense A6/A65K. It also has customizable wood-finish bezels to match your living room, and the zero-gap wall mount allows it to sit flush against your wall. You won’t much bass here, for one, but the sound is never harsh or grating, and holds up even at higher volumes.

We found that just being 20 degrees off centre introduced gamma and colour shift with the screen washing out quickly the further you moved off-axis. Enjoy Over one billion shades of colours can be reproduced on your display with quantum dot technology with Hisense TV brings breakthrough immersive audio experience to your home whether it is shows, games or live sports. The A7G is also a QLED TV with Quantum Dot technology built into the panel to give purer looking colours, although it doesn’t quite reach the full width of the DCI-P3 colour gamut for HDR, instead Hisense states 90% coverage. Other features include an AI picture processor for upscaling, and Dolby Atmos support for immersive audio is also built-in though the TV obviously only has two speakers. This combination results in much better color volume than WOLED displays while delivering deeper, more uniform blacks than the other QLED TVs on this list that use LED backlights. Still, even the cheapest of their OLEDs is a bit more expensive than the best Hisense TV, so they're not competing on value.
