I originally bought this and another book in their series for younger siblings but we ended up reading them together. Who would have imagined these not-so-known, not-well liked, mostly secondary disciples to look this cute that you would like to collect them if they were collectible figures? We will suffer in this world, but because of Christ’s crucifixion, we don’t have to suffer for all eternity. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others.

What I found so entertaining is that they took all the tropes from secular manga in terms of facial expressions and put them in one of the greatest stories ever told. It is a much-needed distraction from reading religion books, including the Bible, that are texts only. They also both criticized the book's occasional odd phrasing when key dialog was rewritten using modern English.For example, in this picture are Thomas the Twin, Andrew the brother of Peter, Simon the Zealot and Judas Iscariot. Manga MessiahManga (Japanese for "comics") Messiah is a Bible for comic book and anime lovers of all ages. All the characters in this book are wide-eyed in innocence and most of them have flawless skin and winsome smiles.

The team at Next Manga did a fantastic job, and the artwork I’d say is on par with other genuine Japanese manga. I’ve still yet to read them because it’s all in Japanese, but it’s still pretty rad to see Bible stories in manga form. The trio felt the manga contained extreme anti-Semitic views and was pushing for an idea of "objectifying Jews as non human". It will be appreciated by young and old alike as it brings to life these people and the events they lived through, a real help if you're starting out or struggling with reading them in the Bible. Christ is laying on the wooden cross, looking up to Heaven, screaming to God because He has abandoned Him.

As a Roman Catholic Seminarian I found this to be a great tool to explain the Bible to the younger generation and those who had difficulty grasping certain aspects of it! Comixology's Jason Thompson was less impressed, heavily criticizing the art of the book, referring to it as the "most basic kind of manga shorthand—awkward geometric faces with big eyes, big hair, exaggerated expressions" with "blandly attractive" main characters, "dorky caricatures" of old RPG characters used for the villains, and crudely drawn backgrounds. Although, be careful to use these excellent books as an overview for God's Holy Word NOT AS A SUBSTITUTE. Though, it is still about Jesus Christ's life, so we should consider this book really sacred and something to care about. Explains to others why Christians are the "Easter people" and really helps give an understanding of how Jesus is both God and man.
