I never thought that Schleich toys were something that would interest my boys. They’re lifelike, detailed and beautiful creatures but I didn’t think that they would hold much play value, if I’m honest. I mean, a monkey is a monkey and a cow is a cow, you know? You see, as an incurably hopeless, wish-upon-a-star daydreamer, when my first baby boy came into my life, I swiftly realised that being the parent you thought you would be, and creating family memories to treasure in the way you imagined before your baby was born [and keeping you awake all night] is a real challenge. We were gifted the Schleich Croco Jungle Research Station in return for coverage, because we adore Schleich toys. All of our opinions are honest.

So, the Croco Jungle Research Station is part of the Schleich Wildlife collection, and is themed in the jungle. It’s quite honestly my ideal playset. Crocs, a gorgeous wooden treetop station, and campfire and a cup of tea. I’d live there if I was a mini Schleich person. Ranger Tom and his team are on an exciting mission. The CROCO jungle research station is the central base camp from which explorers set out on wild adventures. Mary the vet and Tom and Alex the rangers depart on their expeditions from here – either on the quad bike or in the dinghy. Set with 4x4 vehicle, ranger David, chimpanzee and lots of great accessories. The schleich® figurines are exceptionally detailed, lovingly painted and allow children to play and learn at the same time. The research station attaches onto the crocodiles skull so this allows your child’s imagination to run free. They can play on the research station and walk Ranger Tom over to the top of the crocodiles skull and into the trapdoor to the crocodiles mouth. Once my son had put all the different parts together he was able to enjoy hours of imaginative, open-ended play. I love the fact that there is no right or wrong way to play with Schleich toys. It is easy to see how they prompt imaginative play, and they are definitely educational too!

All three of them have also heard the stories about the secret treasure in the Croco skull. Can you help them find it? The Croco Cave is also made of something which isn’t brittle and has quite a bit of give to it and so I’ve no fear of puncturing my leg on a giant Croc tooth when I inevitably fall over it in their room. The new Schleich Croco jungle research station is the ideal starting point for all Wild Life adventures. This awesome playset includes a big crocodile skull and integrated secret hiding place, the research centre as well as a viewing platform.

The boys have been happy as clams with the Schleich Croco Jungle Research Station. Because it’s just wildlife, they can put their own stamp on it, create their own adventures without having to replicate the mannerisms of characters they’ve seen on TV, and because it’s so beautifully made and resilient, we can take it anywhere, especially outdoors where they’d prefer to be but can’t normally take toys for fear of getting them wet or muddy. These are toys for the rough spots, the touch spots and the very best places for play. This Wild Life play set is suitable for adventurous children aged 5 and over. It is an ideal gift for Christmas or birthday for boys and girls

Crystal Skull [which makes us feel like this is something to do with Indiana Jones’ worst film ever] This is an amazing set with so much play potential. You can probably imagine how excited my children were to see it and build it. This is a huge playset with lots of different parts, perfect for hours of imaginative play. It does require some building but we found the instruction booklet was great. I was able to leave my 7 year old to put it together whilst I got on with making dinner! On the top of the crocodiles head is the viewing platform which has a trapdoor. With a hole in the top of the crocodiles skull this allows Ranger Tom to gain secret access to the inside of the crocodiles skull. Childhood is gone in the blink of an eye [except the sleepless nights part, that lasts for decades I think] and I wanted to enjoy every moment I could and make it as fun as possible. I continued to follow the instructions, adding the outer railings and the steps on to the research station. The tripod with hook connects onto the station through the hole on the side and sits securely into place, we then needed to knot the string supplied into position to secure, add the net onto the hook and hoist container inside. Now It looks like we are finally starting to take shape!
