Description

CHRG: When the battery is charging, this pin is pulled low. An LED is connected to this pin to indicate battery charging. Battery temperature measurement inside (Disconnect charging when temperature of the battery goes high than normal) TP4056 li ion battery charger module can be used anywhere where you are using portable devices with li ion batteries. For example it can be used to make solar power banks and it can also be used in your electronics projects. Moreover it can also be used as a charger or alternative charger for cell phones, digital cameras and other portable devices. Over-discharge protection feature which prevents the battery from being discharged below 2.4V by cutting off output power until the battery is recharged above 3V. The IC also has a temperature input pin from which we can connect a temperature sensor NTC type. The temperature sensor must be attached with the body of the battery to detect the temperature of the battery while charging. The IC is also programed to disconnect the charging when the battery temperature goes above from a limit set inside the IC’s program. The module is also having two indicators LEDs also marked in the module pinout & details above. One LED indicates the battery charging in progress and when the battery become full charged it automatically gets deactivated and the another LED will become activated to indicate that the battery is fully charged.

It can protect the battery from overcurrents and short circuits by cutting off the output from the battery. This happens in a case when the discharge rate becomes greater than 3A.After connecting the supply connect the 3.7V lithium ion cell you want to charge with the battery connections points shown in the image above. The li ion cell should be connected in right polarity or the cell or charger may damage.

PROG: The charge current to the battery is set by connecting a Resistor called R PROG between this pin and GND. Based on the value of the resistor, the charge current can be anywhere from 130mA to 1000A. As mentioned earlier, very few external components are required for building a complete Li-Ion Battery Charger circuit using the TP4056 IC. The following image shows the circuit diagram of one such implementation.BAT: It is the battery connection pin connected to the positive terminal of the battery. The voltage at this pin is 4.2V. The problem I'm having is that it works perfectly with a "USB-A male to USB-C male", but it doesn't work with a "USB-C male to USB-C male" cable. It also doesn't work with a "laptop USB-C charger" which does do 5 V. The closest schematic I can see is from link, which shows it for a Micro USB, but it appears in all intents and purposes to be the same (it's a generic module) These pins are used to charge the battery by providing +5V at IN+ and -5V at IN- terminals when you don’t have a USB cable. Otherwise, you can directly charge from USB supply by using a USB cable. Pin#7 Red and Pin#8 Green LED The max output current of the module is 1A but it can be adjusted with a resistor which we will discuss later in the article.

The charger is one of these" GOOGLE MAINS WALL CHARGER TC G1000-UK + 3.1 Type C REVERSIBLE CONNECTOR DATA CABLE WHITE"In this project, I will talk about one such battery charger module for charging Lithium Ion Batteries. It is TP4056 Li-Ion Battery Charger. VCC: It is the power supply pin. TP4056 can support a maximum of 8V at VCC but typically 5V is used. By default the charging current of the module will be 1A, it can be controlled by adjusting the resistor R PROG (R3 on module) shown in the circuit diagram. More details of the same can be found in the datasheet of the TP4056 given below.

never be connected the wrong way round at the "charger input". At the other side the DW01A does not protect The TP4056 is a low-cost Lithium Ion battery charger controller IC. It supports a constant current – constant voltage charging mechanism for s single cell Li-Ion Battery. These two LEDs indicate the status of charging. When a battery is charging, Red LED glows, and when it is fully charged, the Green LED turns on. TP4056 FeaturesSTDBY: When the battery is completely charged, this pin is pulled low. An LED is connected to this to indicate standby mode.
