Ono što nisam znala je da je ova knjiga dio trilogije, i to drugi dio! Unatoč tome smo ju odabrali za čitanje i zapravo se i može pročitati bez prvog nastavka jer se dosta objasni u knjizi. I kraj je sasvim ok zaokružen. Ali svejedno mi je taj prvi dio nedostajao. Before the book's publication, Hart had published previously about both Roland and his fictional great uncle Aloysius Bentley in essay form at First Things: with two about Aloysius in 2011 [11] [12] and six about Roland from 2014 to 2016. [13] [14] [15] [16] [17] [18] In February 2005, Hart wrote "Roland Redivivus" a review of Orlando Innamorato (Orlando in Love) by Matteo Maria Boiardo, [19] and this Roland is noted as the namesake for the family's new puppy in the first paragraphs of Roland in Moonlight. The beginning stupidity is not the worst things about this novel. It's composed of almost endless padding. Koontz, never the most challenging of writers, here reaches the absolute bottom. Whenever there's a possible plot development or any hint of ambiguity, he explains every possible solution or action as if the reader was too stupid to do this on his/her own. There's absolutely no subtlety or suggestion, everything is spelled out, and to make matters worse what could be spelled out in one word is spelled in twenty. Koontz constantly holds the reader's hand, afraid that when there might be some confusion they might have to actually use their brains and will understand that what they're reading is a product of, uh, low quality.

This is a real shame, because the concepts and the ideas he presents in both Moonight Bay novels are much better than both Odd Thomas and Koontz's Frankenstein. Bad writing and cliches aside, the complete series would be much more interesting than both others.

We re-explore our main characters XP over and over again which is no fun if you have already read the first book. For some reason there are a lot of descriptions about nothing. The main character is a dreamer and constantly floats of in his own mind which meant the book just didn't flow at all.
