I don’t know about you, but I love adding color to dishes. You can add color by simply adding vibrant produce to a recipe or one of personal favorites, dying noodles! Long ago nobody used natural dyes, but they’ve become more accessible and it’s so easy to just use produce. Pink is actually one color you can easily achieve with just a few pieces of raw beets! Add the flour to your clean working surface, create a well in the center, and then add the beet juice and oil to the center of the well. Use this beet pasta in place of regular pasta for all your favorite dishes, and it’s sure to impress. Even better, you can use this beet pasta recipe to create pink noodles, lasagna sheets, and various types of shapes and extruded pasta. Store any cut pasta under a clean kitchen towel and repeat this step with the remaining dough portions. To use a pasta machine Technically, all types of Thai noodles are healthy but the nutritional content of every noodle depends on the type of cuisine it is being used and the ingredients added.

In Thailand noodle soups are not complete upon delivery to the table, and require additional seasoning to suit the diner's palate. This soup, despite its bold flavour base, is no different. These three simple recipes, in addition to sugar, and will elevate your bowl to suit your preferences: Olive oil: olive oil will help to yield beet pasta dough that is more tender and supple. This makes it easier to roll and shape (which is important with an egg-free recipe). Sen Lek noodles, which are about the size of linguini, are a versatile type of rice noodles. They can be used in Thai dishes with broth, steamed, fried, or in making spring rolls. POPULAR THAI DISHES WITH THIN RICE NOODLES: A. PAD THAI This is a typically seafood laden dish, but the many vegan bowls I have consumed in Thailand and in my own home are proof this and other dishes can be made without animals. The nutritional content of the Bah Mee or egg noodles is the same as regular pasta, but a bit lower in carbs, calories, and protein. However, egg noodles have a richer flavor and more umami compared to other noodles due to its protein content from the egg yolks. POPULAR NOODLE DISHES WITH EGG NOODLES: A. PAD SEE EW (THAI STIR FRIED NOODLES) Make sure not to do this on a surface that stains easily, as beetroot juice can (and will) stain! You can also do this in a large bowl. Noodles are the main ingredients of the most staple and delicious foods in Thailand. Dishes such as Pad See Ew, stir fried rice noodles cuisine, boat noodles, Pad Thai, pink noodle soup (Yen Ta Fo) with fish balls or fried fish rolls, Sukhothai Rice Noodles Sukhothai rice noodles, and Northern Thai khao soi or Khao Soi Islams, are among these dishes.

These Thai rice noodles are made from rice flour and water. They are usually soft, thin, and tender. The term Sen literally means noodles, and Lek means small in Thailand. This dish is made of glass noodles, ground pork, fish sauce, roasted peanuts, ground pork, Chinese celery, tomato, julienned onion, garlic, cilantro, Thai chilies, and dried or fried shrimp. b. THAI PAD WOON SEN (THAI GLASS NOODLE STIR-FRY) By using beet juice in place of another liquid for this vegan pasta dough, you’re able to make a bright Fuschia pasta dough that cooks up wonderfully with a subtle earthy beet flavor. Best of all, not only does it look great, but it’s a great way to get veggie-wary kids to eat more veggies. Flour: I used 00 flour for this beet pasta recipe. However, you could use all-purpose flour (which will yield slightly chewier pasta) or a combination of 00 flour and semolina flour (which will create a stronger dough). These yellow color instant noodles are usually used in different Thai dishes like stir-fried dishes and noodle soup. Curly noodles are often fried in a wok along with vegetables, oil, pork, or shrimp. The strength of the dough: because this pasta is egg-free, the dough isn’t quite as strong as it otherwise would be, so be gentle when handling it. Yum Mama / Yum Woonsen: These are noodle salads made from simple re-hydrated noodles (mama or woonsen). Simple, refreshing and can be very spicy! Often mixed with minced pork or shrimps and seasoned with lime juice, chili, coriander etc. Whilst there are traditional recipes, you in theory can add what ever you like to it and many would use the seasoning sachet from the instant noodles. Apart from the shrimp, which almost passes for pink, the naruto kamaboko also adds to this dish’s pinkness. This surimi, or fish cake, consists of pureed deboned white fish. After flavouring and colour are added, the paste is steamed until cooked and firm. The tsuyu

Next, it’s time to roll out the pasta dough. You can do this by hand or using a pasta machine. If you want to make pasta shapes like penne or spaghetti noodles, you can even skip the rolling altogether and use a pasta extruder. To roll by hand

You can use a storebought variety of wonton skins to fry or you can use my recipe for fried wonton skins (geow tod). Name's Kip. Some things about me: vegan, Thai food enthusiast, comfortably chaotic and disorganised, information lover, Londoner, cookbook collector, clumsy AF, rarely takes a serious photo, has never been on a diet. This is not a wellness blog. The color of the pasta : the color of the pink pasta can change upon cooking the pasta. I’ve found it holds the color REALLY well. However, it can leech into the water and become lighter or even orange-ish in tone. To serve: Reheat the gravy if needed. Place the noodles on a plate and top with the shredded eggs. Around the noodles, place a small bowl of gravy, extra bean sprouts, extra garlic chives, a piece of lime, and some roasted chili flakes. Pour the sauce over the noodles when ready to eat (you don’t need a lot, just enough to moisten the noodles). Enjoy! Wherever you are, you will usually find the following condiments so you can flavour your noodles to your desired taste: sugar, fish sauce, vinegar and dried chilli flakes. Season and enjoy! Khao Soi Noodles The Most Popular Noodle Dishes in Thailand

Pink soba noodles, stir-fried with pink surimi and topped with mentaiko, a spicy cured cod roe, makes this seafood soba a visually striking dish – especially if you like pink! More importantly, it’s delicious. The soba noodlesYentafo, sometimes written with partitioned syllables as yen ta fo, is an ostensibly vibrant Thai soup noodles dish. The colouring varies from apricot to an irradiated looking flourescent pink. The latter renders the dish easily recognisable and, unfortunately, is more often than not an indication of who serves the worst renditions.
