I paid about the same for it as it sells for now. I really was not looking for more batteries, and was unsure if the ones that came with this charger would even work ... but they do! And I really don't see any difference in performance compared to the two OEM batteries. Nearly two years later all four batteries and charger are still working without any problems. I don't know if you can get them where you are, but I can comfortably recommend this brand. The Nikon D500 is one of my all-time favorite Nikon DSLRs thanks to its excellent image quality and performance. Enthusiasts and even newcomers who want to step up to a higher end APS-C camera can do so thanks to its more affordable price.

Here we see the shiny new D500 next to the venerable old D300S. Overall size is very similar – the D300S with squarer shoulders and rounder hips. The old boy is noticeably heftier at 840g versus 760g. I always appreciated the weightiness and solid feel of the D300/D300S. It meant business. The connection between the camera and phone is always active, even when the camera’s power switch is set to off. But contrary to the idea of using Bluetooth, this can result in considerable battery drain on the camera even when it is switched off. This can be fixed by switching the camera to its airplane mode, if you can find it in the menu and remember to turn it on. But then the two devices can often fail to re-establish the connection when you need it. Nikon D500 review – Build and handling I got the D500 a few months after its release, and started looking for compatible batteries, as I had used them with the D200, D300 and D300S, with few problems over the years. They got so cheap at the end that I could get 4-5 compatible for the cost of one Nikon original. When a battery would die, as they did 2-3 times over about a decade. I had 2-4 batteries in reserve. Nikon batteries don't seem to come down that much over time, whereas compatibles do.Note that Nikon's own AC adapter/battery adapter solution output 9V with a 4.5 A rating. 7V will typically be too low voltage to work as there is some voltage drop during mirror movement. Tbcass I assure you I can afford the lenses, it’s an issue if you don’t see any added value. It’s dumb to pay more for similar or lower quality.

Nikon generally positions its DX cameras as lower-end due to the smaller sensor, but the Nikon D500 is Nikon’s most advanced DX DSLR ever. It has the same autofocus system as the flagship-level Nikon D5, 10 frames per second shooting, dual memory card slots, and a large bufferthat allows you to take 200 images in a burst before the camera slows down. Nikon D500 + 400mm f/2.8 @ ISO 4500, 1/800, f/4.0 Also, it’s best to shoot in aperture priority mode with Auto ISO for wildlife photography. An alternative is to shoot in manual mode with Auto ISO, but that can lead to overexposed photos if you shoot in bright environments, because the Auto ISO won’t be able to go below 100. Nikon D500 + 500mm PF f/5.6 @ 500mm, ISO 3600, 1/400, f/5.6It looks like the problem has been resolved, however this is not an uncommon fault and Thom Hogan even responded to me when I asked his advise. He said:

Autofocus is less speedy when using Live View but it’s unlikely that you’ll be using Live View to shoot action. When it comes to metering, four patterns are available – matrix, centreweighted, spot and highlight weighted. The default matrix system is very strongly biased towards ‘correct’ exposure of whatever is under the active AF area, regardless of whether this suits the scene as a whole. This approach has it merits, but does have a certain tendency to clip highlights in high-contrast scenes. In such situations I appreciated having the highlight-weighted option which, as its name suggests, aims to maintain highlight detail, allowing you to bring up shadow regions in post-processing. Although the D500 doesn’t have a full metal body like the D5, its metal chassis is more durable than that of the old D300S. The degree of sealing is greater, too, so the camera can be used in harsher conditions. Nikon has also omitted a pop-up flash to make the camera sturdier, and the hotshoe is protected with a weatherproof seal. Nikon D100:Announced 2002. 6 megapixels (a lot for the time!), 3 frames per second, 5 autofocus points I`ve read that on occasions the third party grip can malfunction/glitch although apparently the regular Nikon grip can and does malfunction/glitch just as much .. What this actually means in real terms I am not exactly sure....
