Description

From opulent castles atop the shadowy crags of the Realm of Death, the vampires of the Soulblight Gravelords are plotting their domination of the Mortal Realms. At their command is a menagerie of nightmarish horrors and legions of mindless thralls – and with the upcoming Battletome: Soulblight Gravelords , this aristocracy of the night is better poised than ever to extend their deathly domains. Blades of Shyish – has an aura doing a mortal wound to everything in 12″. Not the greatest damage output but can certainly do some splash damage to weaken things, especially if it goes off on a 9+

Cursed City will see you and your party fight through hordes of undead beasties and vampiric lords in a series of modular scenarios across the fallen city of Ulfenkarn, before facing off against vampiric lord Radukar the Rat, who cursed the city. Overall, good changes. The old book’s spell list held up surprisingly well and keeping them intact was a good call. It’s helped further by Nagash knowing all 13 spells and given he can cast 8 spells a turn at full health, that is a lot of versatility. Bloodlines

If you have slain an enemy Hero or Monster = Add 1 Damage to the unit’s melee weapons (but not the mount’s melee weapons sadly, sorry Zombie Dragon). Martin: I was delighted to be invited to take part in this new take on the classic “Tale of Four Warlords” for Warhammer Community. I’m a massive fan of Warhammer Age of Sigmar, and so when the chance came along to delve into the latest edition with a new army, I bit their arm off.*

The other big change here is to the distances from enemy units, your returned unit only has to be set up more than 3” from enemy units, so it’s really difficult to zone out now. The trade off is that in the turn they are set up, they can’t charge or make pile-in moves. This renders the ability immediately less offensive than it could be in your own turn, but a better reactive defensive tool for throwing up screens in your opponent’s turn and it’s fantastic for throwing out control of objectives after your opponent has already made their moves. The Unquiet Dead Brand new and providing decent power is Unbending Will , giving your general a 12” aura that makes summonable units count as two models on an objective. With the sneaky ways Soulblight have of getting summonable units onto objectives, this could have a lot of value in flipping close matches. Artefacts of PowerThe Soulblight Gravelords were one of the factions that sort of transitioned over from Warhammer Fantasy, and I can safely say with the arrival of this book they are starting to feel more at home in the Mortal Realms. The arrival of Warhammer Quest Cursed City led the way with this of course, but they are now starting to feel like a fully fleshed out Age of Sigmar army. I look forward to getting these finished in the coming weeks and adding more creatures of the night to the hunt! Joel – Hedonites of Slaanesh What’s that? You prefer big monsters instead of zombies and skeletons? Well, in our final stop of the Soulblight Bloodlines we have the Avengorii Dynasty. The battletome’s cover art might also hint towards another, upcoming Soublight centrepiece unit. Look to the left of the central Vampire Lord, and you’ll spy what appears to be an undead dragon. Nothing has been confirmed, but this might be a subtle tease at an updated vampiric dragon mount. Maybe. Necromancer: His spell no longer grants a Summonable unit to fight again. Instead when he casts it on a unit which is in combat, they can immediately fight. Still a great spell allowing you to fight twice, just in two different phases.

Anyway, there are 5 subfactions. As normal, it does not limit you from including anything, although some bloodlines are oriented toward a particular playstyle or grant additional battlelines. Many characters in the book are already part of a subfaction and you can include them in other stuff but they won’t gain the benefits of the legion. We’ll go over the traits of each legion and what that playstyle means, and a few choice artefacts and traits that might be worth looking at. For a full deep dive, we’ll work on a start competing within the coming weeks. Legion of Blood

Warhammer Age of Sigmar - Ossiarch Bonereapers Battletome Rules

If you like Special Named Characters, this Dynasty is probably the place for you, as it is still home to the vast majority of characters from this book. You love halloween? You still clutch your 5th edition Vampire Counts army book to your chest? Soulblight have a cool, old school warhammer aesthetic with a brilliant model line that has (almost) totally been revamped. The depth of the line gives you options to monster mash, to take hugely powerful heroes, devastating heavy cavalry and shambling hordes – but it’s also totally viable to take a mix. Top 5 Things About the Battletome If you want a super-reliable vampire to charge off into enemy lines, consider The Red Casket which is a ni Amethystine Pinions is a nice spell that gives the caster +6 to their movement, which is great considering some of these casters already have a decent move value! This bellicose beast-baiter is the latest addition to the vampire dynasties in Battletome: Soulblight Gravelords. This book contains extensive rules for each of the major dynasties – the feral Vyrkos, the monstrous Avengorii, and noble Kastelaii, and the esteemed Legions of Blood and Night. On top of that, there’s also a Warscroll for the Askurgan Trueblades, the ascetic vampires found Bloodhunt, the most recent expansion for Warcry.
