The Secretary of State appeals with permission a decision of First-tier Tribunal Judge O R Williams (‘the Judge’) promulgated on 15 January 2022 in which the Judge is said to have allowed GOAH’s appeal against the refusal her application to remain in the United Kingdom as a refugee and on human rights grounds. The time in Arles became one of Van Gogh's more prolific periods: he completed 200 paintings and more than 100 drawings and watercolours. [123] He was enchanted by the local countryside and light; his works from this period are rich in yellow, ultramarine and mauve. They include harvests, wheat fields and general rural landmarks from the area, including The Old Mill (1888), one of seven canvases sent to Pont-Aven on 4 October 1888 in an exchange of works with Paul Gauguin, Émile Bernard, Charles Laval and others. The most comprehensive primary source on Van Gogh is his correspondence with younger brother, Theo. Their lifelong friendship, and most of what is known of Vincent's thoughts and theories of art, are recorded in the hundreds of letters they exchanged from 1872 until 1890. [8] Theo van Gogh was an art dealer and provided his brother with financial and emotional support as well as access to influential people on the contemporary art scene. [9]

"What I'm most passionate about, much much more than all the rest in my profession", he wrote in 1890, "is the portrait, the modern portrait." [241] It is "the only thing in painting that moves me deeply and that gives me a sense of the infinite." [238] [242] He wrote to his sister that he wished to paint portraits that would endure, and that he would use colour to capture their emotions and character rather than aiming for photographic realism. [243] Those closest to Van Gogh are mostly absent from his portraits; he rarely painted Theo, Van Rappard or Bernard. The portraits of his mother were from photographs. Where sub-paragraph (1) above applies, the decision-maker must consider, on the basis of the information provided by the applicant, whether there are exceptional circumstances which would render refusal of entry clearance, or leave to enter or remain, a breach of Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights, because such refusal would result in unjustifiably harsh consequences for the applicant, their partner, a relevant child or another family member whose Article 8 rights it is evident from that information would be affected by a decision to refuse the application.

In one conversation with his grandson, Mukaku told Ryuki why he hated the Worm so much. He admitted that he had done a lot of awful things to inevitably find a way to kill Wulong, and if he died, it would be all for nothing. He told Ryuki that if he did die, it would be left to him to complete his revenge. Ryuki, on his part, misinterprets Mukaku's death as him merely keeling over due to him already being at an advanced age. [3] American dictionaries list / ˌ v æ n ˈ ɡ oʊ/ ⓘ VAN GOH, with a silent gh, as the most common pronunciation. [4] In the dialect of Holland, it is [ˈvɪnsɛnt fɑŋˈ xɔx] ⓘ, with a voiceless v and g. He grew up in Brabant and used Brabant dialect in his writing; his own pronunciation was thus likely [vɑɲ ˈʝɔç], with a voiced v and palatalised g and gh. In France, where much of his work was produced, it is [vɑ̃ ɡɔɡ(ə)]. [5]

Whilst the grounds criticise the Judge in relation to allegations of failure to properly consider Appendix FM, there is no challenge of merit to the Judge’s findings in relation to the existence of insurmountable obstacles to family life continuing outside the UK. The state is made up of two halves, in north Goa the golden beaches are brimming with working fishermen, sunshades and vendors. By contrast, south Goa comprises secluded coves and stretches of sugary sand boarded by swinging palm trees. Take a guided tour of Goa with a local resident I found at the hearing the Judge dismissed the appeal on asylum and Humanitarian Protection grounds. This conclusion was not challenged before me.
